Wednesday:    Read Chapter 9 and 10 of Bud, Not Buddy.  Using a dictionary, complete the definitions for the vocabulary.  Make sure that the definition is applicable to how the word is used in this story. Answer the questions on the handout using complete sentences. Please make sure your handwriting is legible, otherwise you will be asked to do the assignment again so that it is readable. 

                        Come prepared Thursday to recite the definition and Bible verse for the character trait, thankfulness.

Suppose you are getting a new in-ground swimming pool built at your house.  The pool is going to be a rectangle that is 30 feet by 15 feet.  The outside border of the deck around the pool will also be a rectangle, which is 44 feet by 28 feet.  The deck is going to be covered by a new tile that has a special, nonslip surface, even when wet.  Each of the tiles is a square that is 6 inches on a side, and there is no gap between any 2 tiles when they are laid.  How much will be spent on purchasing just the right number of the tiles if they cost $3.47 each?
