Note to Parents: Today’s assignment is intended to be done over a period of days. The literature guide assignment for this book will be given each week and at least a week is given to complete the literature guide. Since Monday is a holiday, an assignment sheet outlining the homework is not given out. Many parents enjoy reading the story together, sometimes the student reads and other times the parent reads. It is also great practice for a student to read some portions aloud. It is up to the parent to determine what works best for the family and what the student needs. This first study guide will not be due until September 8th. This will give me time to get feedback from you about how long this assignment took to complete.

Parent Responsibility: Make sure that the student has completed the homework

assignment.
