Try the Cranium Crackers:
Mr. Reisenfeld, Ms. Joeli, and Mr. Ngogi entered vegetables in the annual garden show. They
won first, second, and third prizes.
The cabbage won the second prize.
The beet won a higher prize than Mr. Reisenfeld’s vegetable, which was not the cabbage.
Ms. Joeli’s vegetable won first prize.
Someone entered a green pepper.
What prize was won by each vegetable, and who entered each vegetable?
Four men want to cross a deep river. The river has poisonous fish in it, so it isn’t safe for the
men to be in the water.
There is no bridge.
The men have an old boat that will hold only two of them at a time.
Only one of the men can row.
Two of the other men dislike each other, and they fight whenever they are alone.
How can they all get safely across (and keep the fighters from being alone together, too)?
