Daily Assignment Sheet

Class:       5th-6th English     Date Due: April 29th


Monday:         Complete pages 277 and 278 in your Writing and Grammar book. 


Tuesday:           Begin reading Chapters 8 and 9 of Shipwrecked. The study guide should be completed using complete sentences and will be due on May 4th . Do not turn in your study guides on Wednesday.  You will use them as they contain the spelling words (the vocabulary words on the literature guide). Please use complete sentences when answering the questions.


4th graders will have a spelling test over the following words and should write down the words at least one time per day: almanac, rampant, convey, tormented, inflation.


5th and 6th students should write out the spelling words (all the words from the vocabulary list at least one time per day to practice for the next spelling test which will be on Monday, May 4th ).  6th graders will also be asked to write the definition  for each spelling word.


In your copywork notebook, write the definition, saying and memory verse for the character trait, tactfulness.

Definition:  Picking my words carefully

Memory Verse:  A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.  Proverbs 25:11

Saying:  Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.




                        Parent Responsibility:  Make sure that the student has completed the homework assignments.
